Contemporarily there is no more controversial nutrient than the carbohydrate. Although this is one of the four essential macronutrients (meaning something we need to provide essential nutrition to the human body), carbs have come under attack in recent times. In this video AFS CEO Mike Stack explores the truth behind carbohydrates. We’ll present the conclusion that it is not eating carbs that matter, but it’s the type of carb you eat that determines if they can be a healthy part of your diet. As the video explains, highly processed (or refined) carbs aren’t very healthy and should be limited. Unprocessed (or minimally processed) carbs are foods that can be consumed in significant quantities in a healthy diet.
